extra ● soundtrack ● scenes ● connections ● ooc basics [top.] NAME: Braden Kilduff. GOES BY: The dominate personality goes by his full first name, pronounced bray-dan, while the weaker one prefers the shortened form, Bray. AGE AND DOB: 73. July 15th 1946. SPECIES: Demon; Biological. CAREER: Unemployed. CURRENT RESIDENCE: MARTIAL STATUS: Single. SEXUALITY: Bisexual. ETHER: Yes. He is jagged and frantic, cutting into you, sometimes painfully so, an uncontrollable rush of air and force, all rough edges. On occasions he feels like the burn of cheap alcohol down your throat to dull the pain, whenever Braden is in control. At other times, with Bray he is the sensation of bubbles rising to the surface, last moments of fight against the surrender. supernatural [top.] ABILITIES
SKILLS: He has the advanced healing and powers that are inherent in being of demon blood, able to recover from injury fast and to survive what would have been a fatal injury to mortals. Braden is capable of speaking not only English but Irish Gaelic as well, thanks to his parents. He is capable of driving most vehicles, from cars to motorcycles to trucks; Braden has even been known to drive boats in the long distance past, both sailing and engine ones. He has a minor artistic side, able to make items from clay, Braden often using a lump of clay in order to work through any frustrations and feelings he might be dealing with at the time. Sometimes these are horrible messes, other times they are true works of art. LIMITATIONS: By far his greatest weakness has to be his split personality and the insanity that came with it. He can easily slip from one personality to the other multiple times during a single conversation, different personalities sometimes having wildly opposing views which can easily cause problems if one likes a person the other hates. His weaker personality is just that – weaker. Limited and easily scared, easily pushed into doing things that they might regret. When Bray is in control anything can happen, the side being more easily manipulated and changed. Both sides can also easily be provoked into reacting rashly, with his heart rather than thinking things through, often resorting to his powers or his fists, easily stirred to anger. They also share a similar obsessive nature, from more understandable obsessions such as the hate for the woman who murdered his mother, causing him to relentlessly track her across countless counties and when it comes to Amanda, both sides are equally blinded. They are determined to make her pay, with little to no regard for their own safety or the safety of those around them. If they had to, they would happily destroy countless lives in order to make the woman pay and to ensure that she died as well. WEAPONRY TRAINING: Limited; Braden can hold his own when he needs to and is capable of using both bladed weapons and guns when he can, although he vastly prefers using how own body, skills and powers. Hand to hand combat is his best forte, however he can throw himself almost recklessly into trouble. On the flip side however, Bray has no understanding of how to fight and defend himself. GROUP: The Raidan. POSITION: Member. OPINION: ALLIANCES: RIVALRIES: appearance [top.] Standing at an even 6’ high, Braden is built well enough, without any extra fat on his body. He is lean and has decent enough muscular build up, most noticeably around his arms. Braden has rich chocolate brown eyes. They go well with his dark brown, almost black hair which falls in curls around his head, long enough to just touch his shoulders. There is normally around a day’s worth of stubble on his face. He is often seen in darker, richer coloured clothing, wearing numerous layers on top of one another, shirts on top of shirts and then a coat on top of that. On rarer cases he can be seen in brighter colours, normally if Bray was in control when selecting his outfit for the day. Much of his clothing is creased and slightly tattered, indicating that he either sleeps in them or has no interest in keeping them neat – either option is perfectly feasible. More often than not, Braden will wear some green fingerless gloves, the items always with him, even if not actually being worn at the time. When he is wearing these gloves he typically has two gold rings threaded through a chain around his neck – on the flip side when not wearing the gloves, the rings are instead on the correct fingers. DISTINGUISHING MARKS: Due to his advanced demonic healing very little that has affected him has remained on his skin, aside from a scar which traces from his left side near the front, down and around the back in a curve from where he was in a fight with a Therianthrope who clawed and scarred him. Braden also has a slight birthmark on his right wrist, a small dark oval. personality [top.] A fractured and tortured man, Braden Kilduff is actually two people, aspects of his personality ripped apart and separated by his powers so that there is both ‘Braden’ and ‘Bray’. Both personalities are aware of the other, but only Braden, the stronger of the two, truly understands that they are the same person, where as Bray simply sees the other side of him as some kind of ‘older brother’. While he is aware on some level that they share the same body and thus are the same, it doesn’t seem to really register in his mind, leaving Braden to be the one to hold them both together, to keep them both safe. It is Braden who will stand his ground and fight, while Bray would run if in control at the time. Braden who covers their tracks and makes sure they are safe while Bray just fights and burns his way through life without any regard or thought of consequences. Braden is deeply resentful towards Bray as a result, seeing him as little more than a nuisance, who often steals periods of his life and his body. Despite this, he also knows that he needs the weaker personality, that as much as he might dislike the other side at times, that personality is still a part of him. In some ways, Braden even considers him a reckless younger brother – albeit a younger brother he’d like to club almost to death and leave out in the desert somewhere. Braden is also well aware that he is ‘crazy’, that to have two personalities isn’t normal and that many of the things he does isn’t sane. He hates people pointing that out however and is far more likely to lose control if someone calls him insane; just because he is, doesn’t mean people have to talk about it. Yet at the same time, there is wisps of sanity left in Braden, and it is possible to reason with him, to convince him to do one thing or another. He can hold proper conversations and remember them, and unless Braden is actually talking out loud to Bray it can be hard to know how insane they really are. A vindictive and vengeful person, capable of taking over their shared body even if Bray fights against him and he has no qualms about doing so if the need arises. Fiercely protective of his other self, and not only because he knows that if something were to happen to Bray, it would happen to him, Braden will fight to the surface if he considers Bray to be in danger. Both are generally aware of what is going on when not in control, as if watching from the sidelines, although it would be a mistake to assume that just because one personality promises something, the other will honour it. Bray is the weaker of the two personalities, as well as the more obviously crazy of the pair. He is nevertheless similar in many respects to Braden, sharing the vindictive traits and also many of their aims and desires. Childish, there is a sly cunning to Bray. His favourite trick is to appear even more childlike than usual and thus not a threat; he gains intense enjoyment from his powers and hurting people and things with them for no other reason than because he can. Whims and the desire of the now power him along more than anything else. It can be hard to hold a proper conversation with Bray, his attention always slipping to something new, his words often making no sense, clouded as they are by his insanity. Unlike his counterpart, Bray cannot handle being alone and so draws immense comfort from hearing Braden in the back of his mind. Due to their ‘illness’ and the energy and stress it can take to maintain control, there are times when Braden is unconscious in their mind. On those times Bray regress even more to a child, becoming terrified of anyone and everyone. He simply cannot survive on his own and if there is someone he trusts, he will cling to them, otherwise he will attack everyone he sees until he can hear his ‘brother’ once more. history [top.] FAMILY FATHER: Gilroy Kilduff. ooc [top.] PLAYER: Thoz. PLAYBY: Aidan Turner. BLURB: Split apart and driven insane by his powers, Braden is in reality two people; the adult and the child, the reasonable and the pure ego. Petty and vindictive, a danger to everyone, what one may agree to, the other will disagree and destroy. Driven by the desire for vengeance, the two personalities are at least united in their desire to kill the murderer of their mother; about the only thing they can settle on. TITLE: The Double Act.
